Terms of use

1. The service

Tale Forge makes illustrated, narrated stories where your child is the hero, in Swedish and English. AI writes the text, an AI image service draws the pictures and a computer voice reads aloud. Stories can be calm or have choices, and are kept on the bookshelf. The first part of a story takes a while to create; pictures and narration arrive while you read.

2. Account

• You must be at least 18 and responsible for the child using Tale Forge with you.
• The account is yours; children get no accounts of their own.
• Keep your sign-in secret. You are responsible for how the account is used.
• We cannot check age; we rely on what you confirm.

3. Fair use

Use Tale Forge for your family. Don't try to access others' data, get around limits or payments, overload or scrape the service, or send us illegal content or other people's personal data.

4. AI-made stories

• All content is made with AI and checked automatically, not by a person before reading.
• A story may contain mistakes or something unsuitable for your child. Read together and stop whenever you like.
• Stories are made up and are not facts or advice.
• Tell us on the help page if something is wrong.

5. Rights to the stories

You may read, keep and share your stories privately. We use them only to run the service and fix problems, and not in marketing without asking. The Tale Forge name, app and design belong to Tale Forge AB.

6. Stories, payment and subscriptions

• Free story: every account of an adult with a confirmed email address gets one complete story free, without a payment card. The free story does not expire.
• Family subscription: 10 new stories per month. Monthly costs SEK 149 in Sweden or EUR 14.99 per month; yearly costs SEK 1,490 or EUR 149 per year, with 10 stories per month during the year. The subscription renews automatically until you cancel. Launch discount: the first 500 subscribers get 50% off for the first 12 months, i.e. SEK 74.50 per month or SEK 745 for the first year. The regular price applies after that.
• The month's stories are valid during the subscription month. Unused stories do not carry over to the next month.
• Currency: the price is shown in the currency for the country you pay from – SEK in Sweden and EUR in relevant countries. The currency follows the country, not the language the app is shown in. [DRAFT – the currency for other countries is not decided.] The final price, including any applicable VAT, and the currency are shown on the payment page before you pay.
• Countries: the subscription is not limited to Sweden. The supported countries are shown on the payment page; this does not mean the service can be bought in every country.
• A story counts when it is completed. A story that could not be created, or where a backup story was shown, does not count.
• If pictures or narration in a completed story are still missing after we have tried to make them again, you automatically get one story back, once per story. Temporary delays do not count. The returned story can be used for 30 days, also if the subscription renews in the meantime, and never for less time than the story it replaces; if it replaces a story that does not expire, it does not expire either. The pages already made can still be read.
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period. If a payment fails, new stories may pause. Completed stories and pages already made can be read even after the subscription has ended.
• Right of withdrawal: 14 days under Swedish distance selling law. If you withdraw within 14 days you get the full amount for the period back and the subscription ends. Submit your request through Withdraw from purchase in the parent area or write to support@tale-forge.app.

7. Ending

You can stop at any time. An account that has never had a subscription or started a purchase can be deleted in the parent area; otherwise we delete the account at your request, see the privacy policy. We may suspend an account that seriously breaks these terms and will tell you first if we can. If we change the service materially we give at least 30 days' notice.

8. Liability

We work to keep the service running, but it may be unavailable. Your consumer rights are not affected. We are not liable for indirect losses unless caused intentionally or by gross negligence.

9. Law and disputes

Swedish law applies. Contact us first. If we can't agree, you can turn to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN), arn.se, or a Swedish court; if you live in another EU country you also keep its mandatory consumer protection.
