Common questions
Who is Tale Forge for?
Children aged 4–9 reading or listening with an adult. Only the adult has an account.
How long does a story take?
The beginning is written when you start and takes a while. Pictures and narration arrive while you read. A story has seven pages.
What's the difference between calm and choices?
Calm is a straight story without choices, for bedtime. With choices the child decides twice what happens; every path has a real ending.
Is my child's photo kept?
We do not save the original photo. It is sent to our image provider to draw the hero. Illustrated drafts are saved in your account; you choose which becomes the hero. You can also describe the looks instead. Read more in the privacy policy.
Are the stories safe for children?
Stories are written with AI for ages 4–9 and checked automatically before you see them, but no person reads each story first. Read together and tell us if something doesn't feel right.
How do I delete our data?
In the parent area under Privacy and deletion you can delete a story, a child profile or the whole account.
I forgot the parent code.
Choose "Forgot the code?" at the parent code. You sign in again and then choose a new code.
I had an account in early Tale Forge or met you at the Book Fair – how do I sign in?
Sign in with the same email address as before. Choose "Sign in with an email link" on the sign-in page (or sign in with Google using the same address) to access your free stories right away without needing your old password.
Can I change the narration speed at bedtime?
Yes. In the story reader you can toggle between "1.0×" and "0.9× Calm" next to the narration button for a gentler bedtime pace. Your choice is saved automatically for the next story.
How do my child's world and recurring characters work?
In the child's profile under "Child's world", places, objects, and friends (such as a pet or companion) are saved with their own portraits so they look the same from book to book.
Can I print or save a story as a PDF?
Yes. On the final page of a finished book you can choose "Save as PDF storybook / Print" to save or print the whole story with its cover and all illustrations.
What does Tale Forge cost?
